Meet your Chief Instructor, Kellene Bishop

Kellene has triumphantly instructed and trained in complex and sophisticated industries for the past decade, becoming a key expert particularly in the world of commercial high-finance. One of her favorite hobbies for the past several years has been handgun and shotgun shooting and she embraces this hobby with the somber expectation that she may be required to save her own life or the life of others someday.

Having always had a passion and a belief that women need and should be instructed differently than men in this particular discipline, she's been on a mission to do just that.

As she began on this particular quest, she had the pleasure of helping her husband create the revolutionary shooting technique, The Power of Nine. As soon as she saw herself and others apply this amazing technique being applied in the world of shooting, she immediately recognized its value to women in overcoming their hesitation to use a firearm as protection, the gap of reliable and consistent skills currently taught in the industry worldwide, and the missing link to a woman feeling capable and confident in a threatening situation. Kellene and her husband now utilize their collective skills and attributes to broaden their effect on gun enthusiasts worldwide to be better protected and better prepared.

Kellene recognizes that a firearm is not always the best and most practical choice for personal protection. Fortunately, she's sought out extensive additional training, including Marine training, which enables her to tap into real-life hand-to-hand combat training, thinking smarter and strategically in all public and home situations, and so much more.

After a lot of bruises, swelling, ibuprofen and many hours of focused study, Kellene has successfully brought her well-honed skills to grateful women worldwide!

Kellene was one of the very first women in the nation and the only female in the Western States to receive all of the applicable self-defense instructor certifications from the NRA. She is a certified Chief Range Safety Officer, as well as a certified instructor in the NRA disciplines of Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Personal Protection Inside the Home, and Personal Protection Outside the Home. In addition to these certifications, she also brings her ability to truly connect with women nationwide in teaching them street-smart physical self-defense techniques as well as how to expertly handle a firearm under high-stress circumstances. Can you think of any other type of circumstance that you'd need to use a firearm?

She is one of the co-founders of The Power of Nine which exclusively teaches the 3x3 Unified Protection System , and obviously, she is the only female certified in the instruction of this monumental shooting technique. She is also certified in Hand-to-Hand Street Combat Instruction.

She is happily married to Scott Bishop, whom she affectionately refers to as her Prince Charming, who is also her business partner- and YES- they DO enjoy working together.

In addition to being an award-winning expert in marketing- which has become a delicious hobby of hers, she is a voracious reader, enjoys scrapbooking, shopping for shoes- (DSW is the BOMB!), pressure cooking (she's a frequently requested instructor), visiting and spoiling her nieces and nephews, and snuggling with her two dogs Sinta (a Yorkie, who thinks she's the next UFC fighter as she wrestles with Scott) and Roxi (an apricot-colored toy poodle, who thinks she's really a bunny rabbit.) Kellene is also an expert consultant on matters of emergency preparedness and considers her Women of Caliber instruction an extension of that expertise.

While Kellene is clearly an accomplished and honored professional, her experience with guns and personal protection does not go back for eons. She was not raised around guns whatsoever. She was not exceptionally athletic growing up and she even got beat up in school a few times. In fact, the first time she ever shot a firearm, she was so affected by it that she began the "ugly cry" and immediately wanted to stop! But it's a completely different story now. She's not someone afraid of a physical threat before her. And she's emphatically here to show you that YOU TOO can learn and become an expert very quickly if simply taught the proper tactics and strategies!
